Mind Restructuring: Good Character, Good People And Good Leadership -By Richard Odusanya

I dare say, that we are all part of the defeated race. A race that will continue to defend and celebrate our oppressors. A race that is simply not bothered about justice, equity and fairness doctrine. A full-blown materialistic society. It is only good people with good characters that can produce good leadership. Except if we refuse to acknowledge the basic rules guiding nature. That is when we as a defeated race will buy in to the illusion of god will do it, without playing our own rolls. It is impossible to plant corn and expect to harvest coco.

It was Steve Bantu Biko, one of the popular voice of black liberation and an anti-apartheid activist that succinctly captured the whole essence of character, he crooned:- “What is a CHARACTER of a defeated race?

  • A race that brags about expensive clothes that they wear, that are produced by another race.
  • A race that brags about cars that they drive, that are manufactured by companies owned by other race.
  • A race that brags about their house that are financed by financial institutions owned by another race.
  • A race that takes their kids to school to be taught by another race.
  • A race that have fully adopted language and religion of another race.
  • A race that will hate each other defending another race.
  • A race that get excited to work for another race.
  • A race that the only freedom it has is the freedom to vote and not economic freedom.
  • A race that will kill each other just to have a political position and be in office and not in power.
  • A defeated race is that race that is in majority but it’s survival relies on the minority race.

  • How can principals, parents and students who pay invigilators to cheat in exams complain about bad Leadership.
  • How can University Dons who helped to rig election also be complaining about weak institutions and poor leadership.
  • How can our faith-based leaders, many of who are complicit in the rot of the society, promoting materialism instead of chastising bad precedence, now join in talking about a rotten system.

Generally, people who are considered to have good character often have traits like integrity, honesty, humility, courage, loyalty, devotion, fortitude and other important virtues that promotes good behavior. These attributes and character traits define who they are are as a people– and highly influence the choice they make in their lives. This is the way to go. Good character, good people leading to good leadership.

It is, therefore, important to continue to emphasize the need for a national rebirth, thus: avoiding the calamity that is imminent to a defeated race. Hence the need to continue to propagate the objectives of campaign of “Mind Restructuring” which is targeted towards a wake up call. DRY BONES SHALL RISE AGAIN.
