Minister Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye disrupts event, arrests organiser for impersonation

Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, interrupted an event in Abuja, the country’s capital, and accused the organizer of impersonating.

A video has been released on X by the International Centre for Investigative Reporting, or ICIR. The irate minister was heard on the video stating that the event’s organizer had been instructed to postpone it.

Speaking to attendees and reporters who had been invited by the coordinators, the minister declared, “My purpose in being here is to elucidate this to everyone.” The organizer has been taken into custody.

“She should have reorganized herself, used her name to make the invitation, and used her name to do this. Not to use the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs.

“I can’t allow this programme to go on because this is pure impersonation, and the President is not happy about it.

“I am saying it, let the media cover it. I don’t care. You don’t do this. You don’t take the ministry for granted. For what?” she queried.

The programme, which details were sketchy, was on women and food security.
