My response to His Excellency Ebelechukwu Goodluck Jonathan: Niger Deltans Vs Biafra Lecture in Texas, United States of America -By Engr. Chinwike Aloke

Goodluck Jonathan

Mr Ebelechukwu Goodluck Jonathan; it is undeniable that you’re angry, dented and self-serving after you lost election in 2015, because you got marginal turnout from Igbo States and communities.

Your Excellency, Igbos respect and have supported the people of Niger Delta for many years, even when the later has shown unfathomable injustice and betrayal to the former in the face of danger.

The case of Igbo abandoned property in Rivers stands tall in our political history but Igbos have carried on with their lives regardless.
We are well averse of Ken-Sarowiwa’s obsession for Igbo and their assets but nobody challenged him.
When Ken Sarowiwa was imprisoned, Igbos are the ones that fought for him .
Igbo communities in Abia and Imo were balkanised to create some Niger Delta states, Igbos did not fight the authorities because they believe that people still knew their origin. When unscrupulous Niger Deltans in cahoots with Nigeria authorities morphologically changed names of Igbo communities and individuals in Niger Delta – in obvious ploy by Nigeria govt. to minimize Igbos, Igbos did not challenge the unbecoming attitudes. Igbos knew that people will definitely know their origin despite politics.

Mr Goodluck, the second in command in the Biafra Army under Ojukwu was from Niger Delta and the union has thrived over years with reasonable majority of rational individuals from Niger Delta.

It is certainly untrue that Niger Deltans will prefer to be slaves in Hausa-Fulani hegemony than to be king in Igbo led administration. This is an obsessively unfortunate statement coming from you. This assertion is baseless and comes from same masters that have plagued your political career. Again, you’re serving their masterpiece. Like successors political statement, Mr Buhari said; I am not for nobody but for everybody…. bottomless speeches not from the heart, obviously.

You were the President of Nigeria for 6 years, what can you say you achieved for people from your area, the Niger Deltans? You lost election as a President in your local constituency, in Bayelsa and nationally constituency in Aso Rock, seat of power.
These are evidence of your lethargic leadership style and personality.

It was mainly the Igbos that made your first tenure successful, not even your inner Ijaw circus. But when you chose to be a slave to the Hausa-Fulani, you were dazed with corruption and instability.

Recall the $2.1billion given to Mr Dasuki to buy hardware to fight BH in NE..? Where were the Chibor girls kidnapped – who orchestrated and completed that assignment ?
Who undermined your economic footprints in your government. Yea, Lamido Sanusi your Central Bank Governor and master since you bowed to be the slave that you chose to be . Look at how poorly your VP served you, all the monies you gave them and delayed the proposal not to review the oil block allocations they predominantly held in Niger Delta, did not win you their trust and support.

They disdained you and voted you down in every sense. Your VP could not complete a simple task – like Judas, he delivered you to the gallows.

Recall that your own brothers and sisters in Niger Delta did not even make it easier for you. Mrs Deziani is your sister and she has been singing to the EFCC as well as your dear wife that made your administration the Goliath of caricature. These are not Igbos.

Dr Ngozi Okoro-iwala or Prof. Soludo did not betray you – they gave emphatic and professional services in their roles while they served your government. They are not singing to the EFCC or smeared around the world on corruption graft. In fact these noble citizens of Igbo extraction are doing great things around the world. You have not heard that Dr Ngozi Okoro-Iweala is the head of WTO. Innoson motors and Peace Airline sprouted and flourished despite your lack of support at peak of your government.

Welcome to the Igbo world !

My dear Mr Ebelechukwu (your own Igbo name – now you’re self-denying) you reneged on your promise to the Igbo people – a simple bridge project and every Igbo man and women could see through the iron-curtain that you have lost your rudder to stir your ship to refuge.

Igbos are democratic and have never maltreated or taken anything from anyone forcefully. Their nationalist and international endeavours and unequivocal sense of community wherever they are domiciled, are colossal examples both at home and away.
They are not cowardly anyway when pushed to the wall, like Nigeria and Hausa-Fulani tyrants had done over many years. They have been in power for 32 years of the 61 years of independence – yet their place and the country have fallen abysmally behind from her compatriots.
Talk about fear for the Igbos – you alleged – Nnamdi Azikiwe was an Igbo and tell us who United Nigeria more than he ever did. Is it Belewa and Ahmadu Bello who looked after northern interest or Awolowo who championed Yoruba interest ? Tell us, you have not heard about the undiluted loath of Igbos by Ahmadu Bello and that Igbo included you and all Niger Deltans – whom you have now sold to be slaves.

Your Excellency, you can chose to be a slave, Igbos have chosen to be Kings and have asked to be allowed to stay on their own. This is not too much to ask!
It’s is obvious even to your late brother, Preye, who was swept away in bad flood that ravaged Bayelsa while you’re hooked on gin & rum in the Villa, that the Nigeria playbook has severed to stifle Igbo ingenuity.

Igbos will be fine without the Niger Deltans, but be assured that many Niger Deltans are in awe of igbos and how they have championed freedom for the ordinary people – including Niger Deltans. So do not loose sleep; healthy competition in Biafra land is better than your eternal enslavement in the hands of Hausa-Fulani. Most Niger Deltans are onboard for Biafra rather than to be enslaved in Nigeria.
You’re aware of ongoing war in Cameron.

If Niger Deltans ever miss the Biafra boat, it will be eternal regret to them!

Remember, oil is a waning commodity – so they glory your want to bask in has been unceremoniously depleted by your masters and the sanctity of your environment is still hollow.
