NAF to Close Lagos Airport Road for Routine 10km Fitness Exercise
NAF Logistics Command will close part of Lagos Airport Road on Oct 18 for a 10km fitness exercise from 6–8 a.m., urging motorists to use alternative routes.
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Headquarters Logistics Command has announced the temporary closure of sections of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Road, Lagos, on Saturday, October 18, 2025, to allow for its routine 10-kilometre Walk/Jog Exercise.
In a statement signed by the Command Public Relations Officer, Squadron Leader Abigail Ologun, the exercise will run from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and forms part of the NAF’s efforts to promote physical fitness, health, and operational readiness among its personnel.
During the two-hour exercise, movement will be restricted from Murtala Muhammed Airport 2 (MMA2) to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, and motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
“The Command has made adequate arrangements to ensure the exercise is smooth, safe, and hitch-free. NAF and other security personnel will be on ground to guide traffic and ensure public safety,” the statement read.
The Air Force expressed regret over any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure and appealed for the understanding and cooperation of the public, assuring that normal traffic flow would resume immediately after the exercise.
