The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has thwarted an attempt to smuggle suspected psychoactive drugs into the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje.

According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Adamu Duza, the incident occurred on Saturday at about 12:45 p.m. when a visitor, identified as Njimogu Ikedi, was caught with concealed substances.

Ikedi, who had come under the guise of visiting an inmate, allegedly hid items suspected to be cannabis sativa and other illicit substances inside his shorts, which he wore in the manner of a diaper.
