Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday announced that he has accepted U.S. President Donald Trump’s invitation to join the Board of Peace for Gaza.

In a statement, Netanyahu said he agreed to participate as a member of the board, which will be composed of global leaders. No further details about the board’s structure or mandate were provided.

The announcement comes just days after Netanyahu’s office had opposed the board’s composition. At the time, Israel criticized the initiative, saying it had been unveiled without prior coordination and conflicted with Israeli policy. The board was introduced by Trump as part of his plan to end the Gaza war.
