It is no longer rocket science for one to figure out that Nigeria is in a deep mess, like a full-grown woman at sixty, who still struggles to stand on her feet let alone raising her kids; for the past sixty years, Nigeria has been struggling for a stable power supply, economic stability, and so on. The list is endless and definitely, this is not the Nigeria we all saw in our dreams.

However, while we lament and vent our frustration and disappointments, and make a list of the damages these power mongers have done to our motherland, let us find a space to reflect on what we as citizens are doing, or are willing to do that is going to make a difference and actualize the Nigeria of our dream. This became necessary because the government can not do it alone or probably fails to do it.

Therefore, the youths have a significant role to play to save this country from these power mongers, who forcefully marry our motherland and gang-rape her of her youthful exuberance to satisfy their unquenchable desire at the detriment of the masses.

Moreover, in the midst of all these regrets of our mother’s wasted youthful exuberance who is now at sixty, we still have a reason to celebrate knowing that despite the tribulations, Nigeria is still one entity. And maybe, that is a sign that God wants us to work together to unfold the blessings lying beneath us. That should be enough reason to rekindle our hope and keep the faith alive.

Therefore as you lament and agitate, relax, take a deep breath, then ask ourselves as a person, what are you doing about the change you want to see?

If your answer is NO, then it became paramount for you to tame your rage and use it as a driving force towards building a better future for yourself and your community at large.
