Nigeria: Major Setback And Insecurity -By Shamsuddeen Suleiman Malami

Our representatives in the state and national assembly aren’t useful as they can not propose a solution to this issue. There is nothing important to deliberate than citizens safety. Some Reps raise these kinds of motions but they aren’t taken into consideration. Then what is the essence of the government.

Nigeria flag and restructuring

Nigeria, a nation that is gradually transforming into a danger zone. A country that has been confirmed to have a well trained security forces. A nation that was believed by our past leaders to be developed and have a high rank among the best nations in the world. But that seems to be fading away.

Nigeria among other nations have been facing insecurity for so many years. Then Boko haram insurgents and now it’s complex which include banditry, kidnapping and others crimes. The incidents are becoming more dangerous on daily basis.

So many politicians that are currently in power have once made a promise to bring an end to this menace. The only thing they usually do is to plead with victims and their families and comfort them. But that is not the solution as bandits keep attacking citizens. Then who is to be trusted among these politicians. They have the same manifestoes. Those who we believed are already in our blacklist and so many people have regret giving them that trust. Only God can interfere and give us aid in this current situation.

Our representatives in the state and national assembly aren’t useful as they can not propose a solution to this issue. There is nothing important to deliberate than citizens safety. Some Reps raise these kinds of motions but they aren’t taken into consideration. Then what is the essence of the government.

In essence, the recent attack on Kaduna – Abuja train is worrisome as so many innocent citizens have been killed while a lot more are abducted. Sincerely, the safest way to Abuja through Kaduna is the railway, and now the terrorist have to attacked it too.

And to be fear enough, there is no way you can use Guns without having an instruction to train you, that is the reality. Those weapons used by those bandits are sophisticated weapons which requires training before useage. Then Who is behind these bandits? Lets not forget, even the militaries have made it clear that those bandits are using weapons they don’t have in barracks. Then, someone is behind this.

Furthermore, the importation of those weapons seems easier. Customs and other border forces are to supervise and make sure that nothing harmful is been imported in to the country. And we know that Nigeria are not producing kinds of those weapons, then if truly we are to provide safety for our nation, then the borders should be well secured Because those weapons are imported.

The citizens are questioning themselves daily as the tragic situations continue occurring. We don’t know the future of our country if this menace continues. The innocent citizens are suffering and the election is fast approaching. Who should we vote next? Who will bring the remedy to this tragic situations? Who should we give our trust? A question that I always think deep to find their answers.

This is a call to action to our government as we the citizens can only write and profer solutions or give alert about happenings in our society. We don’t have the power to turn things around. Please, take citizens safety first before any project. You won’t be forgotten even if you are not in power, we will be proud of you. Please!!! citizens safety first before anything.

May Almighty Allah bring an End to this hardship Amen.
