Nigeria needs youths in power – Accord’s Imumolen

The Accord Party presidential candidate, Prof. Christopher Imumolen, has advanced reasons why Nigerians, including critical stakeholders, must direct their attention toward ensuring the youths are elected and appointed into leadership positions across the country in 2023.

The 38-year-old presidential candidate maintained that the youth have a huge role to play in ensuring the country is placed on the right development trajectory.

Imumolen stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to Nigeria’s former Military Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakara, in Minna, Niger State, according to a statement by his campaign organisation on Friday.

He argued that the 2023 elections should be exploited by Nigerians by ensuring the elect youths with the prerequisite knowledge, skills and dynamism of solving the 21st century challenges.

He reiterated that the next next generation of leaders like have a critical role to play in taking the country to its promised land.

“We need to reposition the country on the path of development and sustainable growth.

“And if that must be done, Nigerians should start looking at selecting those who have a track record in leadership at various levels from both the private and public sector,” the statement quoted him as saying.

Speaking, Abdulsalami, who commended Imumolen for his presidential ambition, alluded that the country was in dire need of vibrant and youthful leaders.

“I think the old ones should allow young people to take over.

“What we can do as former leaders is to mentor and tutor them in whatever way we can in order for them to lead the country.

“As a matter of fact, this is the time Nigerians should begin to support young, vibrant and visionary leaders that would steer the country on the path of glory,” the statement quoted Abdulsalami as saying.
