Our democracy is becoming unsafe in the hands of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). As days go by, Nigerians are becoming very worried about the style of governance of the APC Government.

The APC came into power with all the promises, giving Nigerians high hopes, “That for once, we shall see a different style of leadership and also for once that Nigerians shall experience true democracy.” But instead, it’s as though we were slipping backwards to the dark days of our nationhood.

The APC today has no respect for the rule of law, neither does it have, respect for electoral process. All Nigerians are witnessing today is the attempt by the party to turn the country into a one-party state at all cost, going by recent developments.

Be that as it may, to them, might be the benefit of becoming the party at centre. With that, whenever they are questioned about things, they would refer back to the other party that was at the centre before and say the party did worst; referring to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Are we supposed to refer back to those days , or seek to do better? Are we supposed to be experiencing comparison or are they supposed to bring change?

These are the questions Nigerians are asking. Nigerians are becoming impatient towards the attitude of the APC.
The APC is becoming intolerant to the voice of the Nigerian people. They seem not to respect anything, except what they intend to do.

You cannot rule people who detest your style of governance. But unfortunately, that’s what the APC is doing; forcing their style of governance on Nigerians. The patience of Nigerians is running out; they would rise up against this style of leadership. It is high time the APC reviewed their strategy so that Nigeria can experience true democracy before it is too late.
