Nigeria will take on Uganda in their final Group C match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles have already booked their place in the knockout stage as group winners after edging Tunisia 3–2 in a dramatic encounter at the weekend.

Goals from Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman put Nigeria firmly in control with just over 20 minutes left, but late strikes from Montassar Talbi and Ali Abdi made for a nervy finish. Nigeria, however, held on and will be looking to complete the group phase with a perfect record ahead of the round of 16.

Uganda are bottom of Group C and come into the game under pressure after Allan Okello’s stoppage-time penalty miss denied them a vital win against Tanzania. The Cranes must beat Nigeria to keep their qualification hopes alive, potentially as one of the best third-placed teams.

  • Kick-off: 5:00pm Nigeria time
  • Venue: Fez Stadium

Team news

Uganda are expected to adopt an attacking approach from the outset. Uche Ikpeazu could be handed his first start of the tournament after scoring from the bench against Tanzania.

Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle may rotate his squad following the tense win over Tunisia. Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali could be rested, while Ryan Alebiosu, Muhammed Usman and Tochukwu Nnadi may be given opportunities to earn their first senior caps.
Nwabali, Osimhen, Semi Ajayi and Ademola Lookman are all one yellow card away from suspension ahead of the round of 16.
