Nigeria Will Be Fortunate to Have Daniel Ogoloma — Charlie Kirk’s Final Tribute
In one of his last public remarks, U.S. conservative Charlie Kirk praised Nigerian political thinker Daniel Ogoloma after their Oxford Union debate, saying “Nigeria will be lucky to have him.”

In what has become one of his last public remarks, late American conservative commentator Charlie Kirk offered high praise for Nigerian political thinker Daniel Ogoloma during a debate at the Oxford Union.
On May 20, 2025, Kirk appeared alongside Ogoloma to oppose the motion, “Trump Has Gone Too Far.” Despite being outnumbered, both men defended their position with conviction before a packed house.
Following the debate, Kirk took to social media to commend Ogoloma’s performance and potential, writing:
“@dcogoloma was my debate partner at the Oxford Union, taking a stand against a large majority of the house as we took the negative position on the resolution ‘Trump Has Gone Too Far.’ Offstage, we spoke about the future of Nigeria. He is a very talented young man and Nigeria will be lucky to have him.”
Kirk, who at 31 had become one of the most visible young figures in American conservatism, was the founder of Turning Point USA and a close ally of U.S. President Donald Trump. His recognition of Ogoloma now carries added significance after his passing.
Responding, Ogoloma described Kirk’s words as an honour: “To be recognised on that stage and in those words is deeply humbling. Charlie Kirk and I may not have agreed on everything, but our shared ideas on Nigeria are something I will carry forward.”
Observers say Kirk’s remarks elevated Ogoloma’s profile beyond the Oxford debate hall, linking him with one of the most influential conservative voices of his generation. For many, the endorsement stands as both a final salute to Kirk’s legacy and a statement of belief in Ogoloma’s potential — and in Nigeria’s role in shaping the global future.
