Our nation clocked 60 years of Independence, there have been celebrations in cities and villages by citizens, on one hand, some of the citizens have not made any gesture portraying their happiness in celebrating the Independence Day.

As a patriotic citizen of Nigeria, there’s nothing that will hinder me from celebrating my country’s Independence, those citizens who haven’t celebrated our country’s Independence Day have their reason, their reason is bad governance, massive killing, banditry, kidnapping, mismanagement of country’s resources, corruption, and money embezzlement, etc.

I have watched a video on YouTube that, one of the tallest towers in the world Burj Khalifa celebrated Nigeria’s 60th anniversary, it baffled me that if an Asian country can celebrate with us, why is some of us are not celebrating?

I would like to draw our attention that it’s enough for the talks let’s just act, can we just shift in this country to do great things? It’s time to SHIFT.
In addition, whatever happens, or had happened we are responsible for because we are the people and people elect leaders, if we did not retire the crook, crannies, and unscrupulous politicians who are not representing us well, we may have the highest percentage of the population but we are 100% part of the future and it is we the youths that will develop the sense of engagement in many aspects of our country’s activities.

Finally, to those who that didn’t jubilate the nation’s Independence, I urge you to take part within your level in society, let’s take part in tackling some problems in our communities and the country at large.
Nigeria must rise despite what divides us, let’s have the potential to make Nigeria great, Nigeria needs watering and we are the ones who can water the nation and make it move forward, if you didn’t and can’t celebrate do not curse the country, for we to make Nigeria conducive for us and the generation to come let change our mindsets, attitudes, shun nepotism, tribalism, unnecessary bigotry and pray for the betterment of our dear country, it still not late to wake up Nigeria is our country.

God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria,
May Nigeria succeed all the way,Amen.
