Nigeria’s non-oil exports reached a total value of $3.225 billion in the first half of 2025, marking a 19.59% increase compared to the $2.696 billion recorded during the same period in 2024, according to the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC).

The Executive Director/CEO of the NEPC, Nonye Ayeni, made this announcement in Abuja on Sunday while presenting the council’s First Half-Year Progress Report on Nigeria’s non-oil export performance.

Ayeni also revealed that export volumes rose to 4.04 million metric tonnes in H1 2025, up from 3.83 million metric tonnes in the same period last year. She attributed the growth to rising demand from emerging markets such as India, Brazil, Vietnam, and several African countries.

“Gentlemen of the press, it is on this note that I am pleased to inform you that non-oil products exported in the first half of 2025 were valued at $3.225bn. This shows an increase of 19.59 per cent as against the sum of $2.696bn recorded for the first half of the year 2024,” Ayeni stated.

She noted that the increase in export value was accompanied by a notable rise in shipment volume, particularly in the first quarter of 2025. Non-oil exports in Q1 were valued at $1.791 billion—a 24.75% increase from the $1.436 billion recorded in Q1 2024.

Similarly, Q1 export volume climbed to 2.416 million metric tonnes, representing a 24.3% increase over the 1.937 million metric tonnes shipped in the same quarter last year.
