The NNPC has announced a new petrol price reduction, setting PMS at ₦900 per litre in Lagos and ₦940 in Abuja. Get details on the updated fuel pricing and its impact on consumers and the market
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has lowered the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly called petrol, across its filling stations in Lagos and Abuja.
A market survey conducted on Thursday confirmed that petrol now sells for N900 per litre in Lagos and N940 per litre in Abuja.
This marks a N10 price reduction in Lagos, down from N910 per litre, and a N5 cut in Abuja, previously N945 per litre.
The adjustment comes three weeks after the Dangote Petroleum Refinery reduced its ex-gantry petrol price to N828 per litre, a move that has continued to influence nationwide pricing trends.
Earlier, on November 13, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) announced that the proposed 15% ad-valorem duty on imported petrol and diesel would no longer be enforced.
“It should also be noted that the implementation of the 15% ad-valorem import duty on imported Premium Motor Spirit and Diesel is no longer in view,” the Authority stated.
The duty had been initially approved by President Bola Tinubu on October 21 before regulators confirmed its suspension.
