Noise Over Reasoning -By Seun Elere
Let’s all go on our kneels and pray for a man after God’s own heart. This country needs that at this moment especially now that our reasoning has seemingly been clouded by these variables that do not add up. Let’s not allow our selfishness takes the place of divine guidance.

Until we move beyond politics of religion and ethnic sensationalism in this country, we will most probably be on the same spot. Until your first thought is not about the religion and ethnic origin of that candidate, you will keep shouting and voting for the wrong reasons and wrong folks.
Please note that since the return of democracy, we have had 2 Christians and 2 Moslems as president of Nigeria. Also, we have had 2 Northerners and 2 Southerners as president of Nigeria yet we are still complaining about the same things. Wen we go get sense for this country sef?
Folks, the governors, senators and house of reps in the south are not from the north likewise, people elected in the north are not from the south. No southeastern state is governed by a northerner and vise versa. First of all, put your house in order. How many of you reading this post know the names of all the gubernatorial, senate and house of reps candidates in your state? How many of you demand for the same good governance in your state as you clamour for the central?
Let’s break it further down, it is not south east that hasn’t produced a president in Nigeria, it is north east. Yes, it makes sense, for the purpose of inclusivity, to clamour for regional representation but it shouldn’t be our best foot forward.
No one gets a different result from the same process without modification to or complete overhauling of the process. We pride ourselves as very sensible and smart people yet we seemingly exhibit folly and fanaticism in all we do.
Let’s all go on our kneels and pray for a man after God’s own heart. This country needs that at this moment especially now that our reasoning has seemingly been clouded by these variables that do not add up. Let’s not allow our selfishness takes the place of divine guidance.
I will close with the words of Lee Kuan Yew: “We cannot afford to forget that public order, personal security, economic and social progress, and prosperity are not the natural order of things, that they depend on ceaseless effort and attention from an honest and effective government that the people must elect”.
We must not allow the loudness of our noise drive away our sense of reasoning.
Peace!
