Actor and filmmaker Lateef Adedimeji has opened up about his journey to success and marital life.

In a recent interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, Lateef recounted a pivotal moment in his career when a senior colleague in the Yoruba movie industry expressed doubts about his potential, predicting that he would fail within a year.

Despite this discouragement, Lateef Adedimeji confidently responded, “Someone once told me in the Yoruba movie industry that he gave me one year to see what I would become. I told him to give me two years and he will see what I will become.”

The actor also shared a heartfelt glimpse into his personal life, narrating the unique story of how he proposed to his wife, Bimpe, over the phone.

“I just called her one morning and asked if she would marry me, and she said Yes,” he revealed.

Lateef noted his wife’s unwavering support through the challenges they’ve faced, including hurtful comments and online trolling.

He acknowledged her strength in the face of such negativity, including being called barren.

“My wife and I have received a lot of trolls. Recently, someone called her barren on social media. She would always show it to me and would say they would be all right,” Lateef said.

Reflecting on his first major film project, Lisabi, Lateef expressed gratitude for his wife’s encouragement during a time when he felt let down by others.

“When I wanted to do my first big screen job, Lisabi, I realized that everybody that I felt would stand by me was not there; there was nobody,” he shared, adding that his wife’s support gave him the confidence to move forward.
