Now That The End Is Here -By Faith John Oyebanji

Dear Hon. Dixon Abiodun Amola,

Before your exit from the top seat of Ife East Local Government Area Office, Modakeke, in the next few weeks, I considered it expedient to write unto you, as this is appositely the last time I will be doing such to you on a political terrain.
I believe you wouldn’t consider my letter as a shocker, as this isn’t the first I will be writing to you on things that pertain to community development and political correctness. In the last few years of my writings to you, many had been treated disdainfully, but all had reflected the truth, and they are today, applauded as such.
To avoid an appoggiatura, permit me to remind you that I was one of those who stood in the media for you and others, without a dime, during your election to occupy the Oke D.O. Secretariat, after the expiration of your ‘caretakership’. On resumption to office in 2018, I wrote you a letter, on things you need to focus on, and precisely ask that you give no room for pride to blind you off the common man’s fates, as one of them you are.
This shouldn’t be about me, but you, hence, I need to take you down the memory lane, as I know, this, you might have forgotten.
As I write further, permit me to shelve the title, “Honourable”, and address you as “Messr”, the latter I consider fit, unlike the former.
In few weeks to come, you won’t be addressing yourself as “the Chairman” in your usual manner at the slightest discuss, and the usual praise-chant of “De Chair” will forever vamoose you.
Have you ever wondered what that means? The answer is simple – YOU WILL NO LONGER BE IN POWER. Everybody will take to their heels. It will be only you and posterity.
Under your chairmanship, even the road leading to your lodge, was deplorable for months, before the intervention of the State Government. Except same (under construction), there’s no single road that isn’t pathetic.
Many allegations were proved beyond reasonable doubt of your siphonage of public funds. Isn’t that likewise pathetic?
May I quote the words of the congress of community leaders in one of their letters to your Oke Fia Boss (seventh paragraph precisely), “We want to place on record that the administration of Amola Dixon Abiodun has put Modakeke community far back, as this is not what we prayed for. It is not gainsay that since the creation of Area Office which transformed into Ife East Central L.C.D.A, the administration of Amola Dixon Abiodun is the worst…” Where are those who sang your praises, sir?
At the beginning of your administration, I was ranting and wailing (like the then chanters do say), you took my call as an unnecessary bark of an ownerless dog. The truth was bitter.
Look behind, and behold those media warriors, they are gone. The table has changed.
As I conclude this piece, I will like to ask the first question I asked while writing to you at your coming to office, “Honourable sir, what will you be remembered for?” Extend my greetings to your coadjutor, Mr. Sangodele Reuben.
Moreso, I’m always ready to meet you at a public debate in case my best wishes doesn’t go well with you.
Sir, being scrupulous to telling the truth, I wish you the very best in life, as you bid office a farewell.
Thank you, sir.
