Ogun State urges workers to embrace health insurance

The Ogun State Government has urged workers in the state to embrace the health insurance scheme of the Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration.

A statement signed on Wednesday by the Press Officer, Office of the Head of Service, Passover Adeshina, said the government’s health insurance scheme had a lot of benefits to support the workers’ health needs.

According to the statement, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi, who gave the appeal while declaring open the 2023 Public Service Week celebration, said the government was committed to the healthy living of its workforce.

Talabi was quoted as saying, “We are talking about our health. A lot of us take so many things for granted. I want to share the health insurance scheme with you and the labour leaders have assured us to meet with the agency in charge of the scheme to iron things out.

“When this is done, I want to implore the workers to key into it because the scheme has lots of benefits.”

Also speaking at the event which started with a ‘know your health status’ programme, held at the Arcade Ground, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the HoS, Mr Kolawole Fagbohun, commended the governor for his total commitment to the welfare of workers.

He advised workers in the state to look after their health and continue to render their services to the state with contentment.

“A productive worker must surely be a healthy worker. Ensure that you eat, sleep well and have a balanced emotional status also. Be content and continue to render your service to the state government,” the HoS was quoted as saying.
