On Self-defense -By Abdulrahman Yunusa

“I don’t know why people are running away from minor, minor, minor things like that,” he said. “They should stand. Let these people know that even the villagers have the competence and capability to defend themselves.” – Magashi
Asking ordinary citizens to protect themselves against unknown deadly miscreant by the govt they revere, love, respect and most importantly glorified thinking their lives would be safe under it watch is absolutely unbecoming, shambolic, irresponsible and very unethical for their class.
It’s indeed very annoying incident to realize that on one occasion amidst such bloody scenes to which such incessant horrible attacks from bandits and BH are hitting our sides, yet Nigerian defense minister possessed the gut to erroneously ask Nigerians to defend themselves against their enemies. While saying this unknowingly to the talker he is telling the world that their government and country as a sovereign state has failed in discharging it primary assignment which is ” Securing the lives and properties of its people ” still they call themselves a responsible govt, imagine !
At this glaring moment that every angle in this country is slipping in to the abyss of man-made tragedy all on the basis of politics and money mongering. Haynes and vulture and all other heartless animals among humans are trying hard to ravage our whereabouts helter skelter just to quench their evil thirst of power and through maiming and killing us.
Yet Govt that is supposed to be responsible of curbing this gargantuan issue is running towards the shadow of the culprits still showering flimsy excuses to have their selves exonerated in the matter. Notwithstanding, some times they even see us the main causative agents to the ongoing happening which is consuming our lives everyday and time, this very baffling.
However, had it been we are weapon-full and strategically excellent on war basis, we couldn’t have sought the help our govt to intervene in to this hurtful events. But unfortunately we are now left with no option than to apply the idea of ” Self defense ” in our daily routines with bloody terrorist. Because we can’t afford to be helplessly receiving bullet or to be getting slain mercilessly by some morons whom govt is incapable of stopping them.
Proliferation of arms in the hand of ordinary citizens is not and it wouldn’t ever be a welcoming idea but at such terrible moment that the security officials are extremely less in number to tame those imbeciles it would be better to let paramilitary and other nongovernmental security agencies to be involving themselves in to the matter in order to have a viable solution.
Honestly, We tired of having of unwanted visitors at odd hours with no enough material to welcome them at any moment at our disposal. Therefore, Let’s govt reinvigorate it’s men and other community securities with succulent stuffs meant for receiving those moronic devils who are always riding our backs with guns.
Actually It’s high time we stop hiding but confronting them with the little we have at our disposal, and it’s very essential for govt to know we can’t enjoy a self defense we are yearning with no modern equipment by our sides, even if they will censor who will be given the weapon to, we are happy to hear that.
Enough is enough, our blood ain’t a worthless thing, it need to be respected at all cost. We are not animals whom their bloods won’t be taken in to consideration because in some advance countries not even all animals are permissible to be slaughtered by people. Then why Nigerians ?
We have to be fully equipped before any shameless being to ask us to defense ourselves against such death merchants which even our gallant are some times afraid of meeting because their arsenal is sophistically modernized .
May we see the end of this seemingly unending tragedy.
