Ondo Police Arrest 25-Year-Old Fake Doctor Running Illegal Clinic in Ore

Ondo State police have arrested 25-year-old Idris Nasiru for operating an illegal clinic in Ore, recovering medical items as authorities intensify the fight against medical quackery.

Police detectives in Ondo State have arrested a 25-year-old man, Idris Nasiru, for allegedly operating an illegal medical clinic in Ore.

Nasiru was apprehended during an intelligence-led operation carried out by the Command’s Surveillance Team.

A police source said a search of the suspect’s clinic led to the recovery of several medical items, including packs of injection needles, medical drips, bandages and other assorted medical equipment.

“Subsequently, a thorough search of his residence was conducted with a duly signed search warrant, during which used injection bottles, needles and syringes were also recovered,” the source said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Nasiru is not a registered medical practitioner, confirming that the clinic was being operated illegally.

“He has since made useful statements while in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations,” the source added.

Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, described it as “another significant breakthrough in the command’s sustained fight against medical quackery.”

Abayomi said, “This arrest forms part of the Command’s intensified efforts to dismantle medical criminal networks operating within the state.”

He stressed the importance of intelligence-led policing in disrupting criminal activities and reassured residents of the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across Ondo State.

The police spokesperson urged members of the public to continue cooperating with the police by providing credible and actionable information to help combat crime and criminality.

Abayomi also advised residents “to exercise caution when seeking medical services and to remain vigilant to avoid falling victim to medical quacks,” assuring that the police remain committed to eradicating medical crimes in all their forms.
