The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two suspects accused of fatally stabbing a police inspector during an altercation in Akure.

Police spokesperson Ayanlade Olayinka, who disclosed the incident in Akure, said the officer was carrying out his lawful duty in the Arakale area of the state capital when the attack occurred.

According to him, “an incident occurred in the early hours of yesterday involving a police officer who was performing lawful duty in the said area. An altercation ensued between the officer and some recalcitrant individuals, during which the officer was tragically stabbed.”
