Ondo Police Bust Baby Factory, Rescue 5 Pregnant Girls, Arrest Human Traffickers
Ondo State Police have uncovered a baby factory in Ore, rescuing five pregnant girls and a baby boy. Suspect Ada Clement confessed to selling babies for ₦400,000–₦600,000. CP Adebowale Lawal orders full investigation.
The Ondo State Police Command has uncovered a suspected baby factory and human trafficking syndicate operating in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area, rescuing five pregnant girls and a baby boy from the illegal facility.
According to the police, babies were allegedly sold from the facility for between ₦400,000 and ₦600,000, depending on their gender.
Police spokesperson Ayanlade Olayinka confirmed the arrests of the prime suspect, Ada Clement, and her accomplices, who confessed to operating the establishment as a baby factory.
“Young pregnant girls were kept in the house until they delivered, after which their babies were sold to individuals seeking children,” Olayinka stated.
He explained that the operation was uncovered on October 21, 2025, following the escape of a 17-year-old victim, Vivian Peter from Akwa Ibom State. Vivian reported to the police that she had been lured to Ore under the guise of a job offer, only to be taken to the illegal facility and held against her will.
Based on her report, operatives from the Ore Division and the Command’s Gender Unit raided the building, rescuing the victims. One of the girls had already given birth and is currently receiving postnatal care at the General Hospital, Ore, while the remaining victims are under police protection.
Olayinka said the Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, has ordered a thorough investigation to track and prosecute everyone connected to the syndicate.
He assured the public that the Command remains steadfast in its efforts to dismantle human trafficking networks, illegal baby factories, and other crimes targeting vulnerable groups across the state.
In a related operation, police also arrested Abdullahi Ibrahim, a 20-year-old suspected kidnapper, believed to be part of a gang terrorising travellers on highways across the South-West region.
