Pastor’s Daughters, Mother and Baby Among Seven Kidnapped in Boko Haram Attack on Chibok
Seven residents, including a pastor’s two daughters, a woman and her baby, were abducted as Boko Haram insurgents attacked Shikarkir village in Chibok, Borno State. Locals say 15 were taken but eight escaped. Community leaders condemn recurring weekly attacks and call for urgent security action.
Two daughters of a pastor (name withheld), a woman and her baby are among the seven people reportedly kidnapped by suspected Boko Haram insurgents who attacked Shikarkir village in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to local sources, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, when the terrorists stormed the community. About 15 residents were initially abducted, but eight later escaped, as the attackers were said to be few and not heavily armed.
A resident, John Yusuf, confirmed that:
“The insurgents did not shoot at anybody, nor destroy any property in Shikarkir during the invasion.”
A Chibok community leader, who asked not to be named, also expressed deep sorrow over the recurring attacks. In a message shared yesterday, he said:
“I am shocked and saddened by the attack on Shikarkir ward, Chibok. My heart goes out to the families of the seven abducted, including the pastor’s two daughters, a woman with her children, and the wife of Mr. Smith Shikarkir with her baby.
It’s heartbreaking that this is happening weekly in Chibok. I join the call for peace and security in Chibok. The silence is deafening; we must demand action from our leaders and support our troops to bring an end to this senseless violence. #ChibokDeservesPeace #PrayForChibok.”
