Politics: Gov. Diri debunks raising any killer squad in Bayelsa
“Unlike their paymaster, who might be the one behind the evil plot, the present prosperity administration has continued to work with heads of security agencies in the State to stem any security infraction and will not create an ungodly killer squad to terrorize the people despite various political inclinations.”
Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State says he committed to keeping the State safe despite unfounded lies by some charlatans and their sponsors who alleged that he has a killer squad in the kitty.
In a statement by Dr. Kolawole OredipeDirector, New Media said that It has come to the attention of the Prosperity administration led by Governor Douye Diri that charlatans hiding under a Facebook pseudo name, Bayelsa Political Journalists, and sponsored by some enemies of the State made series of unfounded claims that the present administration allegedly recruited a killer squad led by Paul Eris, a.k.a Ogunboss, to unleash mayhem on opposition party members in the State.
According Mr Oredipe, “ these charlatans, also claimed such “phantom” killer squad, have listed names of opposition members for extermination ahead of the 2023 elections.
“While the prosperity administration would wish to ignore such unfounded, malicious, and wicked claims, it equally wants to assure the peace-loving Bayelsans that Gov. Douye Diri, with his God-fearing nature, will never contemplate violence against his people.”
“For a fact, the governor has never been known to associate himself with violence and the allegation of raising any “killer squad” is a wash!
