Professor Wole Soyinka calls for the immediate release of Dr. Agunloye from EFCC ‘s custody

Nobel Laureate condemns the EFCC for the unlawful declaration and detention of Former minister of power over feverous allegation 20 years on. 

It’s been revealed that certain elements in the department of justice and a foreign law firm White & Case have coined the EFCC into getting witness statements from persons connected to the Mambilla hydro project. 

Experts have opined that the whole exercise is as a result of an arbitration in the Paris International Commerce of Chambers. 

It happens that FGN’s legal representative have ran out of options and aim to create a foundational flaw with how the mambilla hydro project contract was awarded in 2003 during the Obasanjo administration. 

It is clear however that the whole allegation and action plan would fall on deaf ears as documents don’t lie and so much of this documentary evidence reveal a different interpretation to the allegations leveled. For instance Ex~President Obasanjo claims he never issued contract. 

It happens that Dr. Agunloye  issued a letter of intent to Sunrise Power Transmission on a BOT basis at no cost to government. 

Evidently till date, Sunrise power has raised funds with its foreign partners and the Exim bank for the mambilla hydro project. 

Condition however to move forward in expertise and funding is for FGN so resolve all legal dispute amicably. 

Whilst many legal experts have argued and advised FGN to adhere to a settlement already reached in 2020. Some disagree and have put up a fight. 

Professor Wole Soyinka on one hand advances witch-hunt and impunity by EFCC & certain elements in the department of justice. He has given a stern warning and would embark on a world press conference against FGN if Dr. Agunloye isn’t released and the charade of illegality towards sabotaging the mambilla hydro project isn’t put to a stop.
