Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling has suffered another “terrifying” home invasion — the second such incident in less than two years — leaving the England international and his children badly shaken.

According to the Daily Mail, the break-in occurred on Saturday night, shortly before Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Wolves at Stamford Bridge. Sterling and his children were at home during the incident but fortunately escaped unharmed.

A spokesperson for the player confirmed the ordeal, describing it as a severe violation of the family’s safety and privacy.
We can confirm that Raheem and his children were present at home at the time. Whilst this was the ultimate violation of privacy and safety, we are thankful to confirm that he and his loved ones are all safe. We ask that the privacy of Raheem and his loved ones be respected during this challenging time,” the statement read.

Thames Valley Police have launched an investigation into the burglary, urging the public to assist with any relevant information.
Officers are conducting a thorough investigation and ask anyone with information, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area, to contact police,” the force said.

The recent incident revives memories of a similar break-in in December 2022, when Sterling’s Surrey home was raided during the Qatar World Cup, forcing him to leave England’s camp. Though several suspects were identified at the time, reports suggest they are no longer in the UK.

Chelsea have been informed of the latest incident and are providing full support to the 29-year-old forward and his family.

Sterling’s last competitive appearance came in May during a loan spell at Arsenal, where he featured against Southampton. He has since returned to Chelsea but is yet to make an appearance for the club this season.
