Regina Daniels Denies Drug Use After Taking Drug Test, Opens Up on Personal Struggles

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has addressed recent controversies in her life, revealing that she voluntarily underwent a drug test amid widespread speculation about her personal conduct.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Daniels shared that the decision followed months of intense emotional stress and public scrutiny, describing the period as “heavy” and “almost overwhelming.”

“The past few months of my life have been nothing short of heavy… It has been a major turning point, one that shook me to my core. Everything I had ever known was drowning right in front of me. But here’s the plot twist…I didn’t drown with it,” she wrote, crediting her family, friends, and supporters for helping her stay grounded.

Daniels explained that the test was a way to honor those who stood by her, emphasizing the importance of integrity, accountability, and peace of mind.

“After much reflection… I decided to take this test because I owe it to the people who love me and the people who look up to me,” she said.

The actress also addressed rumours circulating on social media that labeled her a drug addict. She described the claims as baseless and the source of deep self-reflection.

“One thing that echoed loudly across the media was, ‘Regina is a drug addict.’ And honestly? I paused, then I checked again…people often project their fears, insecurities, and negativity onto you. But projection is not reality, and noise is not truth. Here’s the choice we all have to make: Do you allow yourself to be defined by other people’s opinions, or do you create your own narrative? As for me, I choose the latter every single time,” she stated.

Daniels said the ordeal has led her into a new phase of self-discovery, growth, and intentional living, expressing gratitude to God for strength and guidance.

“This chapter of my life is now about self discovery, self growth, and becoming even more intentional about who I am and where I’m going… I’m still standing, still growing and just getting started. And yes… we move. 💪✨ Happy New Year everyone,” she concluded.

The revelations come amid ongoing public attention on her troubled marriage to billionaire businessman and lawmaker Senator Ned Nwoko, which has recently been marked by claims of separation. Daniels had alleged domestic abuse and attempts to force her into rehabilitation, while Nwoko denied the allegations, claiming the interventions were related to concerns over substance use.
