REVEALED: Why I called out Pete Edochie — Uche Maduagwu

A controversial actor, Uche Maduagwu, is known to often raise eyebrows with his outlandish posts on social media.

Last week, he had taken to Instagram to call out a veteran actor, Pete Edochie, for keeping mum about his son, Yul’s alleged marital crisis.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, Maduagwu reiterated that Pete’s public silence on the issue was worrisome. He said, “I called out Pete because he is a well-respected movie icon in Africa. What is happening with his son’s home does not portray his revered and respected personality. He has been married to his wife for over 50 years, but his son cannot boast of a blissful marriage. His silence is worrisome, and he needs to say something.

“Also, I feel that the Actors Guild of Nigeria should have suspended Judy (Yul’s second wife) for having a child for a married man, even before Yul paid her bride price.”

Despite his social media antics, Maduagwu, however, maintained that he was not controversial. “I speak the truth. I am not controversial. I don’t look for attention. I only make contributions to national discourse,” he said.

The social media personality also claimed that an actress, Tonto Dikeh, whom he described as his ‘best friend’, recently bought him a car.
