Sani Abubakar Danladi

Prior to the conduct of the APC gubernatorial primaries in Taraba State, I thought one time former acting governor Alh. Garba Umar popularly referred to as UTC by his political admirers might pick the governorship ticket due to his rumored connection with those that are at the helm of affairs at the APC national headquarters.

I never thought there was a dark horse in the race in the person of the of one time acting governor His Excellency Distinguished senator Sani Abubakar Danladi who out of the blues and contrary to the permutations and calculations of political pundits in the state emerged winner of the primaries with what might be called a landslide victory.

For those who might not know the records of Senator Danladi, he is a grassroot politician with a special connection with the youths of the state and a man who started politics from the position of councillor, council vice chairman, chairman, Deputy governor,Acting governor, senator and a special adviser to the Senate president  he is deeply connected with the ordinary man on the street he is a politician who has a record of Never losing an election and he is also referred to in some quarters as the last man standing due to the miraculous manner he returned as acting governor by virtue of a supreme court judgment which set aside his purported impeachment by the state house of assembly . A removal which has been described as alien to any legislative impeachment procedure known to law.

No doubt, Supporting senator Sani Abubakar Danladi against the non performing Darius Dickson Ishaku and the ragtag candidacy of Aisha Jummai Alhassan and her mushroom UDP is in consonance with the notion that supporting  cerebral and exemplary leaders whom the likes of his Excellency represent should be given the unequalled opportunity to take their countries to the promise land.
