Senator Adeola Mourns Passing of APC Chairman Yilwatda’s Mother at 83
He praised the late Madam Yilwatda as a respected Christian and community leader who stood firmly beside her late husband, a clergyman. He added that she lived a fulfilled life marked by accomplishments and meaningful contributions to society.
Senator Solomon Adeola, representing Ogun West under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has extended his heartfelt condolences to the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, following the death of his mother, Madam Lydia Yilwatda.
In a statement released on Monday by his media adviser, Chief Kayode Odunaro, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations expressed deep sorrow over what he described as “a great personal loss suffered by the family.”
Senator Adeola noted that Madam Yilwatda’s passing is not only a loss to her immediate family but also to Plateau State and Nigeria at large.
“There is no doubt that the family of Professor Yilwatda lost a devoted matriarch and virtuous woman whose absence will create a vacuum. More importantly, the nation lost a great woman whose wise counsel would have been invaluable to present and upcoming generations,” Adeola stated.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Madam Lydia Yilwatda passed away on Sunday morning at the University of Jos Teaching Hospital. She was 83.
