Senegal claimed a dramatic 1-0 victory over hosts Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations final on Sunday, thanks to Pape Gueye’s extra-time goal, securing their second continental title.

The match was overshadowed by controversy when Morocco were awarded a late penalty in injury time at the end of normal time. Several Senegal players temporarily left the pitch in protest, and clashes broke out among fans.

After a delay of nearly 20 minutes, play resumed, and Morocco’s Brahim Diaz saw his penalty saved, sending the game into extra time. Gueye then struck the decisive goal, and Senegal held on to lift the trophy.
