Sokoto Indigenes Rejoice As Ahmad Aliyu Emerges Governor Of Sokoto State -By Issa Aliyu Rahmat
The dwellers of Sokoto State rejoiced and started jubilation on Sunday evening around 4-5 pm as the lovers of APC both Male and Female started rejoicing, moving around the street with brooms in their hands, which indicates the logo of the party.
The indigenes and dwellers of Sokoto State couldn’t hide their excitement and rejoiced as Ahmad Aliyu (the Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress)was declared the winner by the INEC officials.
Recall that the Gubanitorial election of Governorship and State Houses of Assembly was conducted on Saturday 18th March 2023 across all states in Nigeria.
In Gwiwa- a Low-cost, Wamakko Local government area of the state, the election was conducted peacefully.
Mr. Aliyu emerged with the highest number of votes and has been declared the winner of the governorship election in Sokoto state on Sunday 19th March 2023.
Mr. Aliyu is in alliance with the former governor of Sokoto State and the current senator, Aliyu Wamakko. He was a former commissioner and was the deputy governor of Sokoto State from 2015 until his resignation in 2018.
In 2019, he contested Governorship against Mr. Tambuwal, a member of the PDP, and lost with a close range of 342 votes after a re-run.
Sokoto Dwellers Rejoice:
The dwellers of Sokoto State rejoiced and started jubilation on Sunday evening around 4-5 pm as the lovers of APC both Male and Female started rejoicing, moving around the street with brooms in their hands, which indicates the logo of the party.
In an interview with Ibrahim Kabiru Seko, a student, and dweller of Sokoto State who cast his vote at Yabo, a local government of the state. He couldn’t hide his excitement as he keep saying Ahmad Aliyu appreciates you.
“I was pleased and happy as the INEC official declared him the winner of the election, Ahmed Aliyu, I appreciate, Ahmed Aliyu, we appreciate, May you be the best Governor of Sokoto State,” He said.
Also speaking with Comrade Kabiru Yasir, a recent graduate of UDUS, and also an official candidate during the election, really shows his excitement saying APC defeated the opposition party in all the positions.
In his words, he said: “It is blissful, and am happy for him as he defeated his opposition and ruling party, and emerged the Winner of the governorship election in all positions.”
Jubilation continued till Monday 20th March 2023, when the youths of Gwiwa-Low-cost conducted a rally to complete their Excitement.
