Soludo Re-Elected as INEC Declares Results of Anambra Governorship Election
INEC has declared Governor Chukwuma Soludo of APGA the winner of the November 8 Anambra governorship election. Soludo polled 422,664 votes to defeat APC’s Nicholas Ukachukwu and other contenders.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Governor Chukwuma Soludo the winner of the November 8 Anambra State governorship election.
Announcing the results at INEC’s headquarters in Awka on Sunday, the Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, confirmed Soludo’s victory.
The incumbent governor, representing the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), garnered 422,664 votes, defeating his closest challenger, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 99,445 votes.
Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) came third with 37,753 votes, while George Moghalu of the Labour Party (LP) secured 10,576 votes. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, John Nwosu, backed by a coalition group, recorded 8,208 votes.
