Staying Stronger And Longer -By Samuel Ekekere

You might have being opportune to watch a live wrestling match or a television wrestling show. Strong Wrestlers are diehard and never say die however weak they become. They fight till their last energy is usurped. You might have wondered while you watched those wrestling shows how that the wrestlers who start well do not often win the fight. The battered ones who have absorbed blows upon blows are the ones who often find that major blow that brings their very strong opponent down. They are often the ones who have stayed stronger for longer.

In life, those who win do so because of their ability to stay firm against the infirmities of life, challenging it however weak they become and staying put for that last blow which may just be the last to break the Carmel’s back. If you must, you must show a strong defiance against the sources of weaknesses that lie all around you. The laurels in life don’t go to the weak who accept their weakness; they go to the weak that in spite of known weaknesses remain defiant and resolute to push on for the price. Life’s laurels are often not for the strong but the weak that show a commitment to developing strength.

No one is strong in life’s wrestling rings. When you find yourself inside it, you either face it or back out and remain an underachiever and failure. Each individual who faces life’s wrestling ring is an evolving great champion. Inside the rings, you may be hit with terrible blows that you may consider quitting to the strong punches that life often offers. Like wrestlers who fight and choose to lose fighting, you must challenge life however hard and unpromising your chance of victory.

Life does not offer us equitable challenges. Sometimes, you might have queried why life is treating you the way it has, how that you of all persons should go through the intricacies that characterizes life. Think of a diminutive wrestler being paired to challenge a world heavyweight champion. The diminutive wrestler will think it unusual and unfair but will have to face the challenge anyway. Life can never offer you your size. If it’s your size, there won’t be need for any challenge.

Life supplies you with everything that is bigger than you so that you can have something you can always look up to and feel proud that you challenged and won. If it’s what you can challenge, it’s no challenge. What defines champions is their resoluteness at staying put to winning whatever happens in the ring. When they fall under those punches and their eyes are blinded to the effects of their punches, they stretch their hands around and manage to find the life line for a chance to attack again. They don’t give up just easily, however hard the blows. They build strength and courage with each blow and show determination in the face of a glaring lack of strength.

Are you down now and thinking you cannot make the next step up from your down state? Your ability to still think means there is some measure of strength in you that has not being used up. That strength is enough to pick you up from the ground where you are currently and change the direction you might have being heading to. You can think? Think ahead.

Many would-be champions have had their championship status stalled because they gave up too early just at the moment of their major breakthrough. It was at that moment, weakness overwhelmed them and they could not manage to gather that last punch to break through. You never know when that major opening you have walked so hard over the years preparing for will arrive. Provided you have worked so hard all the way till now, just keep on at it. Remain strong just for some few moments more.

The stories of the greatest men living and dead will reveal how gruesome times they had and how tough they built themselves in-spite of life’s adversities and became celebrated and celebrities. If there was no time you had to prove stronger in spite of the pressing challenge, then you have no story. If there is no story, there is no success.

You can and you are there already. Just one last punch is all you need. Stay strong enough to throw it.
