The Taraba State coordinator of National Agricultural Development Land Authority (NALDA) has been Kidnapped by unknown gunmen in his residence Monday morning in Sabon Gari Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State.

The victim Abubakar Ardo joined NALDA in 2019 after resigning his appointment with Access Bank PLC Jalingo.

Recall that the mother of the victim died in a stampede during the 2019 APC presidential rally in Jalingo. The Taraba State government suspended his father from the civil service for participating in the APC rally alongside his wife, the deceased.

Abubakar Ardo is a regular social media commentator with motivational speeches. He appeared Sunday on Facebook timeline when he posted “May Allaah the Most Merciful ease our affairs, be pleased with our souls & grant us a peaceful death, Amen.”

On Saturday evening, Ardo also wrote “Having Allah on your side, doesn’t mean sailing on an ocean with no waves. It means sailing in a ship, which no storm can sink. It doesn’t mean you will have no storms. You will have storms, you will have waves. But when you have Allah on your side, no storm can sink your ship.”

Kidnapping has become rampant in Taraba state with many key government officials as victims. In January 2021, the Ardo-Kola council boss was Kidnapped and murdered in cold blood by his adductors.

Taraba State has a monthly security vote of N300 Million in the custody of Gov. Darius Ishaku. Yet lack of judicious use of the security vote has left stretched the security agencies to combat the security threats in the state.

The current victim Abubakar Ardo is a father of two daughters and a wife who are left in despair and painful experience that followed his abduction.
