Taraba Police Arrest Suspected Kidnapper of 100-Year-Old Man in Ibi LGA

The Taraba State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a suspect linked to the kidnapping of 100-year-old Joshua Magani Ubandoma in Sabon Pegi, Ibi Local Government Area.

Ubandoma was abducted from his home on August 6, 2025, by three armed men.

According to the Command’s spokesperson, ASP James Lashen Saminu, operatives from the Ibi Division, working alongside local youths, trailed the suspects into a nearby forest. Their efforts led to the arrest of 37-year-old Kingsley Alose on September 2, 2025.

Saminu added that investigations are ongoing, as security operatives intensify efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects and ensure the safe rescue of the victim.

Commissioner of Police, Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin, praised the swift response of officers and reassured residents of the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
