Ten Reasons That Slows Down Nigeria Growth -By Shariff M.M Al-hassan

I believe it is too late for this 9th National Assembly to act on these suggestions. But however, those who may becoming back in 2023 or the 10th National Assembly may wish to look at them. These need sincere,objective and selfishness approach I pray may Allah/God bring those persons in 2023.

Despite the attainment of Independence as far back as sixty years ago. Nigeria is still moving like a snail. Sincerely speaking for Nigeria to have rapid development more effort must be put to improve on these ten (10) items.

1- Need to have a complete and holistic people oriented Constitution that will take care of all ambiguities contained therein in the present constitution.

2- Restructuring of the present security architecture with clear provision on three tiers of internal structure of Local,State and Federal Police system.

3-Re-examination of Nigeria relationship with other countries on reciprocity.

4-Re-examination of punishable laws on corruption,drug,terrorism,insurgency and agitations for separation.

5-Re-examination of Pension Reform Act because of pensioners of Nigeria.

6-Realistic action on employment situation in Nigeria to march the growing number of graduates of tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

7-Clear laws on the fate of students of Nigeria in which scholarship must be supported by law. Not like now that it is only on privilege but not by right.

8-Courts are to be made the final arbiter into. Unlike now that Court decisions are subject to Executive confirmation as the case with condemned prisoners. This promotes violent jail breaks.

9-Laws be provided to regulate the price of commodities in the market together with standard measure.

10-Law be made to ensure every state government to comply with the policy of Community Demand System (CDS) on projects to be provided by them not like now that they to what they wish for the Electorates.

I believe it is too late for this 9th National Assembly to act on these suggestions. But however, those who may becoming back in 2023 or the 10th National Assembly may wish to look at them. These need sincere,objective and selfishness approach I pray may Allah/God bring those persons in 2023.
