Whoever is behind the video of APC presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on a cycling wheel deserves a thunderous ovation, the crafter didn’t only kill the ominous rumour that Tinubu is on his sickbed in London but bolstered the confidence of his supporters who have been pummeled by the obedient taunters. The video pricked the balloon of rumour and punctured the parachute of uncertain fears. It takes cracked oil of PR thinking to arrive at this script.

In a time of deadly uncertain realities, effective communication takes the lead. Mischief makers went haywire releasing photoshopped images of Tinubu on sickbed, and that needless antic was gaining ground as many Nigerians were sharply divided on the alleged state of health of BAT.

In an ideal world, one needs not worry about the state of health and age of another person but more concerned about things he is bringing on board. Unfortunately, we don’t live in a perfect world. Ours is a world where almost everyone is waiting to dance on the misfortune of others. We are wired to be sadists, to survive this kind of onslaught one needs an armour of effective PR practitioners to serve as firewall- like what the Tinubu guys who strategically realised the video of Asiwaju sweating out in the gym; that was a masterstroke and if you are a student of strategic communications and you didn’t see the superlative deployment of public relations strategy, then you need a crash course fast. With this single video, doubts have been cleared and tension doused as the video shows a man fit for his aspiration.

To survive the Nigerian dangerous political space, you need to have cracked PR exponents like Tinubu’s handlers.
