The Concept of Love -By Muhyideen Kolawole
The consequence of disobedience might lead to a break in the relationship. Aside from that, you know that the action will not affect you in any way. The only way is that you disobey Allah. Sincerely, it’s a test of love. Allah or fiancé? The choice is yours.
It comes like an abstract reflection of feeling, the sense of being possessed through some spiritual inclinations through which one’s hypothalamus or better still, the heart is restrictively attached to a particular person or thing. That feeling has a stage, its levels are clearly distinguished in the heart of who possesses it. It is seen, as it grows, in words, in action even could be realized in the person’s eyes, ears, skin, and all other senses. Love holds the brain.
That affection, the mutual spiritual connection, should only be first devoted to Allah. You should love your Lord first. Never compromise the affection you devote to your creator. In case you don’t know, if something or someone’s love is greater in your heart than that of Allah, your Islam is affected.
How do you fact check this? It’s simple when you know what to love means. We say you love Allah when nobody’s instruction can alter that of Him. You love your Lord most when nothing can deny you from executing his commandments and wants. When you claim Allah’s love, it means nothing is loved more than Him and nothing is loved like Him.
For instance, Allah forbids adultery and fornication, you know that. One day, your fiancé (without any legal binding) just came that you should have something together. The consequence of disobedience might lead to a break in the relationship. Aside from that, you know that the action will not affect you in any way. The only way is that you disobey Allah. Sincerely, it’s a test of love. Allah or fiancé? The choice is yours.
Try also to test your love in your daily activities. Do I finish watching the ball, the movie before observing praying or I leave it and pray then come back to it? Have I not prioritized my books over Allah’s obligations? Ask yourself.
After Allah’s love is Prophet Muhammad’s love. Who among the creations is more beloved to you than the Prophet? Your father? Mother? Wife? Husband? That is a great mistake. You are not yet a complete believer until Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, is the most beloved to you than your father, mother, children, and all other creations. You obey his commands and refrain from his forbidden.
You worship Allah when you love Him and His Prophet. To love them is an act of worship.
