The First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah -By Abdulrafiu Temitope Maryam (Umu Mubaroqa)
Did you plan on what deeds you will engage on these days? If not, then do that now, please, because these days will run out before you know it. Remember the says, “If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail. May Allah not let us be among the failures.
It’s very obvious that Almighty Allah is the only one that loves all His creations and wants the best for them more than anyone else in both worlds.
Allah knows that we all depend on Him. He knows we are sinners and always shows different ways to ask for His forgiveness, for indeed He’s all forgiving. And here comes the month of Dhul-Hijjah, another way to success.
As evidence from Allah’s beloved narrated by Ibn Abbas: The Prophet said, “No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these (first ten days of Dhul Hijja).” Then some companions of the Prophet asked, “Not even Jihad?” He replied, “Not even Jihad, except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger (for Allah’s sake) and does not return with any of those things.”
The ten days of Dhul Hijja are here already.

My fellow Muslims, this is the time to do business with Allah Subhanahu wa ta’aalah. Grab as much rewards as possible by doing good deeds on these 10 days, for they have rewards better than fighting in the cause of Allah.
Below are some checklists for performing some of the deeds as a reference.
1. Give love to your parents, make them feel happy, smile at them and if you are not with them, give them calls to show goodness towards them.
2. Extend goodness towards the creatures of Allah. Feed the birds, cats and others in this hot summer with water, grains, milk.
3. Take cold water and distribute to those working under the sun, like labourers, cleaners, your staff, passerby or any one in need of help.
4. Going to perform Salah on time. Read Quran as much as you can and listen to good and beautiful lectures.
5. In these days, visit sick patients, old relatives and feed the vulnerable ones in the society.
6. Try to fast all 9 days, every day you fast is like 70 years away from Jahanam.
7. Send Tasleem (As Solat Alaa Nabiyy) to the Holy Prophet (S.A.W).
8. If not 9 days then fast at least on the day of Arafah. It wipes away 2 years of sins.
9. On the day of Aarafa, make more supplications to Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’aalah.
May Almighty Allah accept all we do as acts of Ibaadah.
As salam alaykum warahmotullahi wabarakaatuhu.
