Peer pressure sometimes disrupts self-esteem, check your circle of friend and enquire if you have common goals and how you help each other achieve them. If your responses are positive, then the circle is right for you, but if otherwise, exit the circle.

Self-esteem (Amour _Propre) – This is believing in who you are. It is the confidence you have in your own’s worth. The self respect you give yourself.

Who are you? You are who you choose to be. Standing for who you are is not a child’s play. It requires you to focus on achieving your aim and not let obstacles weigh you down.

Akinolu had always aim to be a young man, who walks in his white lab coat with a stethoscope hanging on his neck. He tried his best to make that happen. He clinched distinction all through his secondary education which gave him a chance to his dream course. Getting to the battlefield, he met different warriors and he felt he definitely can not defeat them in the battle.

Gradually, he starts to lose his self-esteem, worries about his low grades and his competitors, this distracts him from focusing on his primary goal. He ended up dropping out of Medical school because he has lost the courage.

Building your self esteem requires you to stay focused, ask your inner self if you are still on the track and put yourself first.

And to achieve anything in life, you need to believe in yourself, develop and discover who you truly are. Peer pressure sometimes disrupts self-esteem, check your circle of friend and enquire if you have common goals and how you help each other achieve them. If your responses are positive, then the circle is right for you, but if otherwise, exit the circle.

Lastly, being too confident and overly ambitious are not the right pills. Spill them out. You can’t do it all. So you need to invite Almighty to help and guide you in being “You “.
