The Ideal Islamic Woman: Moral (Part 2) -By Muhyideen Kolawole

Not tight clothes that distract men or dresses that show they are not dressed. It’s a sign of the last hour, wearing provocative garments. And whoever stands as a negative sign of hereafter becomes one of the most unfortunate creations of Allah.

Worship is one thing that could be stained when it’s not accompanied by morality. Actually, all aspects of human life are faulty when people fail to see why they should respect it in you. Knowledge, money, power, beauty –name anything that one can possess in life– if moral is not attached; it has no value.

Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him was first accepted and appreciated by everyone because of his morals. He was a trustworthy, kind, calm, diligent, humble, respectful, soft-spoken fellow that never hurt others with his words. He understood human differences and would deal with everyone in the best manner.

To emulate the Prophet is not only for men, but our women also need to exemplify their lifestyle with that of the best creation and his precious righteous wives. It’s very important to stress here that our mothers in Islam, the Prophet’s wives, are to be the mirror whom every believer should emulate because Allah has respected them and complimented their character.

A Muslim woman should not be loquacious, arrogant, narcissistic, or sadistic. A Muslimah gives comfort to her partner, coolness of eyes to her children. She is a blessed companion to her siblings, a caring soul to the people around her, and an accommodating wife who could bear any circumstance Allah brings her family.

Righteous women dress appropriately. They imitate the first Muslim women whom Allah praised as those His mercy and blessings were showered on. Not tight clothes that distract men or dresses that show they are not dressed. It’s a sign of the last hour, wearing provocative garments. And whoever stands as a negative sign of hereafter becomes one of the most unfortunate creations of Allah. May ours not be.

Al-Jannah awaits the pious women who safeguard their dignity, secure their tongue from harming others, maintain their religious rites, and fear Allah and follow His Prophet. Sooner, Allah will hear their voices and grant their wishes. May Allah make it easy for us to practice and safeguard us from Shaitaan –the outcast. (Ameen).
