The imperilment of insecurity around Kaduna State axis -By Abdullahi Yusuf (Abdool)
This administration is now approaching it end, but does the citizens experienced the change they have voted for? Does the administration played it role in fulfilling the campaign promises it made to the citizens?

Insecurity has been a matter of concern for more than a decade in Nigeria, particularly northern part of the country. The escalation of the worst scenario started in northeast with Boko haram militants which gradually diffused to some parts of north west. Kano as the center of commerce and Kaduna which is regarded as the home for the northern elites experienced series of explosions that claimed the lives of many people.
During the administration of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, most of the northerners perceived the insecurity situation in the north as a mission by the then administration to cripple the north, this perception has blinded many from looking at the bigger picture and directed their energy towards playing “blame games” and having thought of getting rid of the administration was the only solution to the lingering insecurity hitherto.
2015 election was regarded as the ‘borne of the new era’, many citizens perceived it as a peaceful revolution and the downfall of PDP which they considered as their problem. Citizens were optimistic of the APC led administration to bring end to the lingering insecurity and lessen the economic hardship that the country have suffered over time. In celebrating the then victory, a lot of people have lost their lives while others get disabled due to one accident or the other all out of felicitation to a fellow human whom they thought would transform the country into a mini London in a very short time. Their optimism was as a result the then situation, the promises made by the administration and the track record of President Muhammad Buhari during his time as military head of state.
This administration is now approaching it end, but does the citizens experienced the change they have voted for? Does the administration played it role in fulfilling the campaign promises it made to the citizens?
The answers to the previous questions are obvious considering the shortage in life expectancy of the common man in the country particularly within the axis of northwest, in states like Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, Niger and Kaduna, the insecurity we experienced during the previous administration has metamorphosed into something different which almost engulfed the whole north west.
Kaduna state have been experiencing a series of imperilment with regards to insecurity lately, with report of countless deaths and abductions around the state. Although, Birnin Gwari and Giwa have became a dead zones for long, but the recent experience is quite devastating. Even the governor of the state was shocked to the extent of admitting failure to secure the lives of people as they promised. It is clear to us how the governor has been giving suggestion to federal government of total annihilation of those living in the forest which according to him could halt the insecurity and restore peace.
According to Kaduna state governor, negotiation to make peace with terrorist can never be an option to totally halt terrorism, which we can all testify by taking Katsina state as a case of study. But do we think confrontation and total annihilation could be the best solution to be adopted? If the answer is Yes, then why BH is still existing? Looking at the series of attacks that took place lately in Kaduna we can conclude that there is a strong collaboration between the bandits and BH members as already forecasted by some analysts.
This administration has allocated more funds on insecurity than any other administration in the history of this country, and it utilized almost any suggestion given by the citizens regarding the insecurity bedeviling the country for a while ranging from replacing the service chiefs, purchasing of weapons for arm forces and fighter jets to confront the insecurity with full force.
Let’s critically think of what this government is yet to employ to finish this insecurity for good. Whenever we are to criticize this government regarding insecurity, let’s do it rationally and with facts, let’s come up with viable solutions as suggestion. We are truly in a mess, but repeating the same mistake (of playing blame games) will never bring solution to this menace of insecurity. Let’s purify our hearts and pray tirelessly for our dear country. Let’s not act as if the country belongs to the leaders alone.
May Allah bring sanity and restore peace to our dear Nation.
