President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the country’s most challenging days are behind it, saying the nation is now on a steady path to progress and renewed growth.

The President made the remarks on Tuesday during a one-day working visit to Imo State, where he commissioned key legacy projects of Governor Hope Uzodimma. These include the Owerri-Umuahia Road, the Assumpta Flyover, and the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre in Owerri. He also unveiled Uzodimma’s book, A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria.

“Nigeria is no longer where it was 10 years ago. Today, I can confidently say that the worst is over. We have the Renewed Hope Agenda, and we have a book sponsored by Hope,” Tinubu said. “I thank you for your patience and perseverance. Nigeria is getting better.”

Highlighting recent economic gains, Tinubu noted that Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 4.23% at the end of the second quarter of 2025, while inflation fell to 20.1% from 24.5% at the beginning of the year. He added that foreign investors were increasingly regaining confidence in the Nigerian economy, urging citizens to remain steadfast in supporting his administration.

The President also commended Uzodimma’s vision and thanked the people of Imo State for the warm reception.

In his remarks, Senate President Godswill Akpabio applauded Uzodimma for documenting history through his book, describing him as a performing governor committed to quality infrastructure. He also praised Tinubu for implementing reforms that, according to him, are positively impacting the lives of Nigerians.

Governor Uzodimma explained that the book was the product of thorough research, chronicling the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) journey over the past decade, its milestones, and its challenges. He stressed that the APC had made notable achievements in infrastructure, agriculture, and economic reforms.

Uzodimma also described Tinubu as a leader of courage and clarity, adding that his own administration in Imo State had achieved significant progress in security, education, workers’ welfare, and infrastructure.
