Tinubu Hails Soludo’s Re-election, Describes Victory as Proof of Visionary Leadership
President Bola Tinubu congratulates Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election, praising his visionary leadership and commending INEC and voters for a peaceful, credible poll.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on his re-election as the Governor of Anambra State, describing the outcome as a clear endorsement of his visionary leadership and developmental strides over the past four years.
In a statement issued on Sunday, President Tinubu said Soludo’s victory in the November 8 governorship election makes him only the third governor in Anambra’s political history to secure a second term in office.
“I congratulate Professor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as the governor of Anambra State. The overwhelming victory he recorded in Saturday’s poll has now made him the third governor in the state’s political history to win a second term,” the President said.
Tinubu commended the people of Anambra State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and security agencies for ensuring what he called a peaceful and credible election.
He noted that Soludo’s re-election was “a testament to his visionary leadership and the remarkable progress Anambra has made under his administration.”
“Governor Soludo has demonstrated that knowledge is power and that academic principles can be successfully applied in governance. Under him, Anambra is living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation,” Tinubu stated.
The President, who visited Anambra in May 2025 to commission several infrastructure projects executed by the Soludo administration, described the experience as “remarkable and indelible,” adding that the initiatives reflected “good thinking and purposeful leadership.”
Tinubu urged the re-elected governor to be magnanimous in victory and extend a hand of fellowship to his political opponents.
“I assure Governor Soludo of my unwavering support, and I look forward to continued collaboration between Anambra and the Federal Government,” he said.
He further observed that the victory of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), an opposition party, underscored the strength of Nigeria’s democracy and the principle that “a hardworking and progressive leader cannot be denied victory by partisanship.”
The President also commended INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting what observers described as a transparent and credible poll, urging the commission to maintain and improve its standards in future elections.
