Tinubu/Shettima: “A taciturnity and dose of Ruthlessness of Abacha” leadership-esque -By Oladeji Olaniyan
Effective communication is an essential skill of a good leader. A leader who is void of such skill is destined to fail.A leader should be able to communicate with his followers in a non-ambiguous, coherent manner. A leader should always be there to show compassion to his followers both in words and actions. No great leader is a taciturn but an effective communicator.

“Tinubu will treat Nigerians with Abacha’s hospitality” was the headline which greeted our screens during the week. The statement was allegedly made by the ruling party vice Presidential Candidate, Kashim Shettima, while delivering a speech in Lagos State.
This statement like many other similar ones got many Nigerians agog and it was welcomed with critical analysis and constructive criticism but the recipient of the statement, who was not satisfied with the the headline took to twitter to deny the statement while providing us with His version of the story.
According to Him; tweet https://twitter.com/KashimSM/status/1570799469041680384?t=03Rn7CDWPXgsyJgrJ3QFqg&s=19
The new attributes are even worse if not scary and disturbing; according to Him Tinubu, his presidential candidate, will deal with Nigerians with “taciturnity and a dose of Ruthlessness of Abacha”. I am afraid this is coming from a Vice Presidential Candidate of a ruling party who wants to lead a multi-ethnic and extremely polarized country as Nigeria.
I hope sincere Nigerians are watching and seeing the pattern of the handwriting on the wall.
They unveil in peace meal their privy plans and agenda.
In this 21st century with the current state as a democratic State bedeviled with economic instability, legitimized corrupt practices, and insecurities, we can’t dare to have a president in the light of any military junta let alone in the person of Abacha. No Never.
According to Shettima, Nigerians will see the taciturnity and Ruthlessness of Abacha in their presidential candidate Tinubu. These are not characteristics of any good and well-meaning leader. I understand that APC and their lackeys are bereaved of ideal leadership attributes, as practically shown by their present candidate, PMB, in the last 7 years. That is their woes for presenting another candidate who is the same light and the Truth is that Nigerians can’t afford to have a repetition of a taciturn president; who can’t communicate with his citizens. Who doesn’t show concern towards the plight of his people? Who can’t address them during critical situations in the country as seen during PMB time?
No, We can’t continue like this, Nigerians must not allow themselves to be fooled for the third consecutive time.
I recall, that Nigerians practically dragged Him to talk to us during the pandemic and we heard the speechless prepared speech. From the words of Shettima, who is the vice president of Tinubu & knows Him better, we can be adjudged that Tinubu is incapable of making coherent speeches, and shy of the camera like Buhari. Probably that’s why He has been run away from the media, failing to honor interviews. We can’t have a leader of such attributes again. We’ve suffered a lot under PMB leadership by unknown proxies and taciturnity.
According to V.P Kashim Shettima, Tinubu lacks these attributes. I believe sincere Nigerians are not sleeping. Don’t get deceived by Tribalism.
On Having Abacha Ruthlessness, this is the scariest for me. If you didn’t witness his military regime nor read about it before,You need to do that to save yourself and our Dear Country Nigeria from impending doom. Shettima is warning us and to be forewarned is to be forearmed. I beckon on well-meaning Nigerians to read the handwriting on the wall. Pay attention to the thought pattern of Shettima.
A little information about Sani Abacha’s military regime’s ruthlessness. His regime was earmarked with the unjust murder of many notable Nigerians who dare to challenge the dastard actions and policies of his regime. It was a regime that almost emptied our treasury. I believe you must have heard of Abacha Loot recovery which is been re-looted by this PMB administration. After almost 30 yrs of Abacha regime, we are still recovering the money is stole. These are the attributes Shettima is warning us to expect from Tinubu.
I believe No SENSIBLE, SINCERE Nigerian wants a leader with such attributes. We don’t need a leader in the fashion of Abacha.
Make no mistake, Shettima knows what he’s saying but I pity those who have allowed tribalism & cynical motives to blindfold them from seeing all these.Shettima is warning us about their imminent crass and dastard plans if elected (God forbid BATing) hence we must not sleep & allow them to sow their evil plans.
Similarly, Shettima was asked about Restructuring, His response was “To hell with restructuring”. If you are not worried, I am.
We should recall that he said when they get to power (God forbid BATing) He play the role of Commander In Chief of the Armed forces, a role primarily vested on the president by the virtue of Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 Constitution.
The statements which has been emanating from the camp of Tinubu/Shettima are enough indicators to Nigerians that they should not be entrusted to lead a hamlet let alone a large assembly of vastly educated and enlightened people of Nigeria.
Remember, Don’t drink poison because it is served in your tribal glass.
We need to save Nigeria together to support the most competent candidate regardless of his tribe or religion. If you seek to be treated by the best doctor not minding his tribe, I don’t see you shouldn’t support the best candidate to direct the affairs of our Nations.
If you seek to attend the best schools without considering the tribe of the school owner, I don’t see why you should be using tribalism as a yardstick not to support the most competent candidate. As for me & my house,
We have chosen who we’ll support us from now and vote come 2023,
We will support and Vote for Peter Obi.
N.b Peter Obi is not a messiah with the Midas touch to change Nigeria overnight but with Him, Nigeria can get back to the path of growth and development.
