The Mazi Organization (TMO) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ahead of his scheduled visit to Imo State, to go beyond ceremonial project inaugurations and personally assess the state of local and state roads.

In a statement signed by its spokesman, Cajetan Duke, JP, on behalf of Mazi Chima Matthew Amadi, the group welcomed the President’s visit but stressed that critical grassroots infrastructure remains neglected.

While acknowledging the significance of projects lined up for commissioning, TMO emphasised the need for a balanced approach that includes rehabilitation of rural roads, health centres, schools, and other essential services. According to the organisation, public investments should directly benefit ordinary citizens.

The statement further questioned the pace of certain ongoing works and urged the President to inspect key routes such as Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Drive, the Owerri–Port Harcourt Road, and Hospital Road, to better understand urgent needs.

TMO also pressed for stronger accountability, greater attention to local government challenges, and development strategies that guarantee both federal and state interventions reach grassroots communities.

Concluding its appeal, the group urged authorities to prioritise projects that would tangibly improve living standards and create more economic opportunities for Imo residents.
