The Vice-Chancellor of Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, Prof. Ademola Tayo, on Monday, appealed to the federal government to tackle capital flights in the education sector.

The VC said the situation could be addressed if the government created an enabling environment.

Tayo said this at the sideline of the University Alumni programme, Alumni Connectivity, titled, ‘Igniting connections, fueling success,’ held for the graduating students.

The event had in attendance, Actress, Creator OCB Skin, Miss Beverly Osu and GMD/CEO, Irvin Global and Investment Group, Uzonna Nwangwa and the national president of the University Alumni, Dr Soji Tayo .

The VC who described the capital flight as unfortunate, lamented that a lot of skilled professionals had left the country for other countries.

He, however, said that the government could reduce the number of students and professionals leaving the country for other countries if infrastructural facilities were put in place.

He said, “The government should try as much as possible to encourage those that stayed behind not to have the interest of going abroad by creating an enabling environment.”
