The Try-Cycle Riders Union of Nigeria (T.R.U.N.) in Plateau State has come under scrutiny for its lack of transparency and failure to provide basic welfare services to its members. Despite collecting daily dues of fifty naira from its members, the union has not provided any tangible benefits in return.

Furthermore, the union has introduced a handbook for its members at an exorbitant fee of 2000 naira, without explaining the purpose or value of this handbook. This raises questions about the union’s financial management and accountability.

Members are left wondering where their daily contributions and handbook fees are going, as they see no visible benefits or services provided by the union. This lack of transparency and accountability has led to widespread dissatisfaction and mistrust among members in Plateau State.

We urge the Plateau State government to investigate this matter and ensure that the Try-Cycle Riders Union of Nigeria (T.R.U.N.) is held accountable for its actions. The government must also ensure that the union is transparent in its financial dealings and service delivery, and that members receive the benefits and support they deserve.

I’m not familiar with the Try-Cycle Riders Union of Nigeria (T.R.U.N.). But However, I can suggest some possible functions of the union :

1) Advocacy: TRUN may advocate for the rights and interests of tricycle riders in Nigeria, such as better working conditions, fair compensation, and access to social services.

2) Training and Capacity Building: The union might provide training and capacity-building programs for tricycle riders to improve their skills, knowledge, and safety on the road.

3) Welfare and Support: TRUN could offer welfare and support services to its members, including financial assistance, medical aid, and legal support.

4) Regulation and Standards: The union might work with relevant authorities to establish standards and regulations for the tricycle industry in Nigeria, ensuring safety and quality services for passengers.
